About Me

This is a blog for John Weber. One of my joys in life is helping others get ahead in life. Content here will be focused on that from this date forward. John was a Skype for Business MVP (2015-2018) - before that, a Lync Server MVP (2010-2014). I used to write a variety of articles (https://tsoorad.blogspot.com) on technical issues with a smattering of other interests. I have a variety of certifications dating back to Novell CNE and working up through the Microsoft MCP stack to MCITP multiple times. FWIW, I am on my third career - ex-USMC, retired US Army. I have a fancy MBA. The opinions expressed on this blog are mine and mine alone.

Lync File Share and Database size Estimator

My thanks to Pat Richard for helping with the math, the look/feel, and for everything else he does.  See Pat here

Have you ever wondered just how much space you need to plan for when deploying Lync?  The file share and the databases can consume some serious space if you set things wrong.  Would you like to input some numbers and see what you might be looking at down the road a piece?  Concerned with coming up a tad short? Want some ammo to convince the powers-that-be to allow you to twiddle the settings a bit and reduce the impact of having 730 days of Lync Monitoring and Archiving data on a drive somewhere?

Well, I have a (partial) answer.  The Lync 2013 File Share Space Estimator.  A quickie little tool to provide you some answers.

YMMV
